About Me

I have a bit of a confession.

I love London. LOVE London. There hasn't been a day gone by where I haven't thought about London. For example, in High School, when I'd spend my time in the Career Counsellor's office and he'd ask me what I wanted to do when I grew up, I pointed to the London travel brochure and asked him if I could look through it. It was never a question of WHAT I wanted to do, I now realize, but WHERE I wanted to go.

The answer was always London. And from what I've read online, there is a community of us who feel the same. We LOVE London, we don't know why, but we relish in every photo, watch the videos on YouTube of people walking in the perfect London rain, listen to the radio stations or podcasts and dream of the next time we can visit.

I last visited in 2005. It was November, the Christmas decorations had been lit a few weeks before and there was magic in the air. I left feeling I had found home.

Now with covid, we keep on dreaming for a time when we can return.

And this is where I think a community of like-minded people who love London can share together memories, online resources, and tidbits of information and history.

It's said that you could wander London for years and still not see everything. With a human history spanning over 2000 years, there's no shortage of content.

I'll show you my favorite places to learn about London, see London, my favorite books so far about London and products I've bought or am interested in from London.

I may delve into politics once in awhile, or may compare what is happening now with historical context, but I prefer to use this space as a source of escape. I think we all deserve a little break from the madness we are currently living in.

So welcome, and thank you for spending your time on my website! Please pull up a mahogany chair in this Dickensian library with rows of books, a roaring fire, and cup of tea, and enjoy!
