Downton set to return in Spring

Sounds like they’ll be venturing over the pond.

In a small ensemble of spoilers for a sneak peak due to be released soon, Downton fans got a taste of what to expect for the next film. Titled Downton: A new Era, the film will be set in the 30’s and most of the original cast is set to reappear. This’ll be a relief to many fans who were left wondering what was to become of Violet, who fell Ill in the last film. 

Creator Julian Fellowes stated in an interview, “We should remember that at the end of the film, Maggie was by no means dead," he said. "You imagine Violet is on her way out, but that decision hasn't been reached."

New faces will include Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, and Dominic West.

It’s promised to be light and airy, something that’s sure to please Downton fans.

Thankfully, the movie will also be funny, according to Jim Carter, who plays Mr. Carson.

The film release date is 29 April, 2022 (U.K.) and 20 May, 2022 (Canada)
